Mary Journal Fall 2006

stop-and-pause
This is a project I curate & organize. (stop-and-pause) is a video project committed to widening the scope of experimental video/film through multiple virtual/non-virtual avenues.

The first goal is to produce screenings in any location that is open to hosting a micro cinema event with the hopes of exposing audiences to the work of cutting edge artists that are utilizing the accessible nature of burgeoning video technologies. In doing so, we hope to present the work in the most ideal light to respect the delicacies and nuances that can only be experienced by a traditional cinematic experience or interactive installation scenario.

One of the primary missions of stop-and-pause is to bring attention to the hugely prolific video art community in Portland, OR by getting the work screened beyond the Pacific NW while simultaneously programming bills in Portland of noted contemporary video artists from all over the world.
